On a Bridge of Assumptions

Isaac Asimov wrote: “Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off once in a while, or the light won’t come in.” This simple aphorism leads us into a constellation of not so simple questions.

What assumptions are governing your life? What was the last time you looked at your assumptions and intentionally examined them? How accurate are your key assumptions? Are they relevant for your current stage of life and development or are they “guests” from a much earlier period that were never asked to leave? And, one of the most important questions of all: do your assumptions serve you well?

Your assumptions are a bridge that carries you to your next destination; have you checked if this is somewhere you actually want to go?

Something to think about and wrestle with as we are entering into the last month of the year. Happy December, my friends.
